Help us celebrate the close of the 2018 Word. Fest with a community open mic for original works of poetry, prose, comedy, or song.

The doors and sign-up sheet will open at 6:00PM. There are a limited number of 5-10 minute spots available. Hosted by Word. Committee Member and Stand-Up teacher, Shelley Latham.

Join us on Sunday for brunch at Mainescape where you will have the opportunity to chat with some of the festival authors. Blue Hill Books will have festival books for sale!

Duncan Hamilton, owner of the Blue Hill Inn, will be making omelettes to order and if we are lucky, waffles. You'll need to bring your appetite for eggs as well as for words.

Between the Poetry Crawl finale and the Saturday reading with Oisin Curran and Sarah Faber there will be a simple Festival Supper in Fisher Hall of the Blue Hill Congregational Church.

Please join us for a bite to eat and a chance to share our experiences of the festival.

Healthy Peninsula and the Magic Food Bus are hosting the second Community Garden Stone Soup Gathering.

Join them for a mini garden workshop and story time to celebrate the harvest. We’ll learn about different cover crops and plant garlic while we make a delicious meal from the garden. Bring something to add to the pot if you would like!

Word. Opening Reception Fundraiser

Word invites you to a pre-keynote reception at the beautiful Blue Hill Inn. Help us kick off the festival, meet some of the writers, and support the literary arts!

Please join us for this opportunity to chat with Abdi Nor Iftin and Brook Ewing Minner as well as other outstanding writers who will be participating in the festival.

Our cocktail party will feature delectable hearty hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Blue Hill Inn and libations from local author Caroline Bicks' book Shakespeare, Not Stirred.
